SDM up North

On January 22nd SDM Consultant, Laura Hicks, with SFNFCI headed up to Stony Rapids to do an SDM refresher training with the staff at Athabasca Denesuline Child and Family Services. The ADCFS office is located in Black Lake First Nation, only 20 km from Stony Rapids. ADCFS serves multiple First Nations and Non-First Nations Communities in the North. Staff traveled in on the winter and ice roads from Fond Du Lac and Hatchet Lake First Nation. The trip was a quick three days, but time was well spent. ADCFS staff were excited to get the refresher training and commented on how it will help them deal with some of the challenges in their community. SFNFCI will continue to travel up to the North to support the staff with ADCFS.
