Mental Health Webinar Series

SFNFCI hosted a 5-part Mental Health Webinar Series, facilitated by Oaks Mental Health that aimed to enhance awareness, provide practical tools, and foster supportive environments for individuals navigating mental health challenges in various aspects of life. Participants had the flexibility of attending as many sessions as they chose and found relevant to their everyday life.

 

Mental Health 101 - February 20th, 2024

This webinar series aimed to provide a foundational understanding of mental health, distinguishing between mental health and mental health conditions. Participants learned about the causes of mental health conditions and explored stigma in everyday conversations. Additionally, they were equipped with strategies to respond compassionately to mental health struggles and were introduced to various mental health resources available in their communities.

 

Supporting People with Anxiety - February 27th, 2024

Focused on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety disorders and panic attacks, this webinar delved into understanding anxiety disorders, including their signs, symptoms, and associated thought patterns and behaviors.

 

Emotional Resilience in Trying Times - March 5th, 2024

Participants learned practical strategies for enhancing emotional resilience, enabling them to navigate difficult emotions constructively. Topics covered included the characteristics of emotional resilience, factors influencing resilience levels, and strategies such as self-compassion, emotional expression, and adequate rest to improve resilience in daily life.

 

Checking On Your Coworkers - March 19th, 2024

This session guided how to effectively support coworkers struggling with their mental health. Utilizing the acronym "CHECK," participants were encouraged to communicate concerns, listen empathetically, collaborate on solutions, and be aware of available resources to provide effective support in the workplace.

 

Recovering From Burnout - March 26th, 2024

Focusing on recognizing and recovering from burnout, attendees learned to identify signs and symptoms of burnout, understand the role of stress in its development, and explore practical self-care strategies for recovery. The webinar emphasized challenging beliefs that perpetuate burnout, seeking help when needed, setting boundaries, and implementing stress-reduction techniques for personal and professional well-being.
