Nechapanuk CFS Staff attends CRC Workshop

Nechapanuk CFS Staff – Feb 11-13, 2020 – CRC Workshop

On February 11, 2020 Nechapanuk CFS staff attended a Children’s Research Center (CRC) workshop in Saskatoon. Nechapanuk and SFNFCI are working on a disabilities project funded by Indigenous Services Canada.   The intent of the project is to work with First Nations Child and Family Services to identify ways to increase awareness and understanding of disabilities. There were a total of 14 participants who attended the 3 day workshop facilitated by Lynna McPhatter-Harris.

The Children’s Research Center hosted a workshop on several Integrated Practice Strategies (IPS). These strategies included Harm, Worry and Goal Statements, the ‘CAP’ framework – collaborative assessment and planning framework. Lynna McPhatter-Harris, Program Associate from the CRC facilitated an engaging workshop on the different tools. The IPS tools are used to help workers build better relationships with the children and families they work with.

SFNFCI would like to thank the following: CRC for the workshop, Lynna McPhatter-Harris for facilitation, Hilton Inn for the wonderful service and hosting the workshop, and the Nechapanuk CFS Staff for participating in the workshop.
