Income Assistance Working Group Virtual Meetings

On June 16th, 17th, and 23rd SFNFCI hosted six 2 hour virtual meetings for Income Assistance Workers on reserve. SFNFCI utilized the Zoom platform to host these meetings online. Participants had the opportunity to either video in or phone in, conference style. SFNFCI staff had also made themselves available to assist anyone unfamiliar with Zoom.

This normally large group was divided into 6 smaller groups based by which budget center each community affiliates with: North, Central and South. This was to ensure each community had an equal opportunity to share roundtable updates and to efficiently manage the groups online.

Each group also had the opportunity to speak about the great work they are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics also discussed were focused around how to adapt programming to meet new standards due to COVID-19. Meeting notes from each session were rolled up and sent to each IA Administer for reference and will also be posted to the link below
ISC representatives and guest presenters from Canada Revenue Agency also attended these meetings via Zoom.
CRA presented on CERB, CERB application process, GST/HST, CCB, and how to set up and access myCRA account.

SFNFCI would like to thank the Income Assistance workers who participated in the online meetings, Indigenous Services Canada and Canada Revenue Agency for the updates and information sharing.

If you are an on-reserve Income Assistance worker and would like to attend these meetings, please contact Lacey Kaysaywaysemat at lacey@sfnfci.ca  or Jocelyn Kakakaway at jocelyn@sfnfci.ca
