Training & Support
Prevention
Our Prevention training, support and resources are designed for Prevention workers who work with Indigenous children, youth and families.
Learning is provided by facilitators delivering competency-based courses on how to deliver prevention programs.
Courses are culturally appropriate, trauma informed, and emotionally sensitive and were developed in consultation with First Nations Child Prevention Staff and are guided by the Saskatchewan First Nations Child Prevention Program Guidelines and Standards of Practice created jointly by SFNFCI and First Nations Child and Family Service Providers.
We actively engage Elder/Knowledge Keepers and honour their sacred teachings. We practice having an Elder/Knowledge Keeper present in each of our training deliveries to provide wisdom, guidance, and learner support.
Training Courses
- 11 courses (120 hours) taken over a 20-day period
- Learner’s must have 100% attendance to receive a certificate of participation for each course. Those who complete all 11 courses will receive a Certificate of Completion.
