Long-term & Continuing Care​

Our Long Term and Continuing Care (LTCC) supports are available to staff who work with people of all age who cannot live independently, due to age or any other disabling condition.

Training Courses​

We are currently in the process of developing training; it is set to be delivered in early 2025.

We actively engage Elder/Knowledge Keepers and honour their sacred teachings. We practice having an Elder/Knowledge Keeper present in each of our training deliveries to provide wisdom, guidance, and learner support.

Long-term & Continuing Care Working Group​

Our working group is for:

  • Anyone in Long-Term Continuing Care sector

Meetings include:

  • Roundtable to share information on how workers see their organization moving forward with LTCC services.
  • Discussions on the needs in the community and how the needs can be addressed through research how workers can gather to begin to formalize LTCC training in Agencies.
  • Updates on SFNFCI work in LTCC including research and training development and proposals submitted to the government. to create a holistic LTCC framework and related training.

Lont-term & Continuing Care Forum​

Our forum includes:

  • Updates from Government bodies on their work and new funding streams
  • Sharing of strategies used First Nations Shelters in Saskatchewan
  • Resources available to help you in your work
  • Guest speakers on topics such as trauma-informed care and self-care
