SFNFCI Hosts Annual Summer Strategic Planning Sessions

From July 15–17, SFNFCI held its annual Summer Strategic Planning sessions, bringing together staff, Elders, and leadership to reflect on the organization’s journey and chart its future. The three-day event focused on SFNFCI’s commitment to becoming the leading, innovative, and sustainable center for research and professional learning for organizations serving children, youth, and families.

Guided by the values of Bravery, Wisdom, and Humility, the sessions included ceremony, a historical recap, updates on strategic initiatives like the Microsoft 365 project, and alignment on the organization’s 20-year vision. Participants engaged in collaborative planning around internal communications and Tier 2 operational strategies.

But we also had some fun while doing this and that’s what makes SFNFCI a great place. We value being highly professional, but we also want to enjoy the journey along the way. Christmas in July was highlight and a fantastic way to end our three-day strategic planning session.

Over the course of the three days, we covered these topics.

  • Connect with our Elders and ceremony: Opened with a Pipe Ceremony, as we always want to do things in a good way.
  • Align on our 20-Year Vision: Outlined Board and Management key activities and milestones that are guiding us toward our long-term goals.
  • Our Commitment to the Vision: Historical recap of how we got here and significant milestones of SFNFCI.
  • Communication Activity: Presentation on our internal communication strategy.
  • M365 Project Update: Latest on the progress and next steps of our Microsoft 365 project.
  • Strategy Development: Update on Strategy Development and Tier 2 Operational plans.

These planning days reaffirm SFNFCI’s dedication to continuous learning and service excellence.
