History of Saskatchewan First Nations Child Welfare (click on the picture to start video)
The Saskatchewan First Nations and Family Community Institute (SFNFCI) developed a historical timeline of First Nations Child Welfare in Saskatchewan as part of the Voices for Reform research project.
This video was created to honour the stories and experiences of individuals that could speak to the key events on the timeline.
An advisory committee comprised of FN Child and Family Service Agency Executive Directors, academics, industry experts, and Elders provided guidance throughout the project.
The video is an educational resource that will complement SFNFCI training programs. This can be accessed by the broader community to further understand the history of FNCW in Saskatchewan.
