First Nation’s Women’s Shelters Conference

October 1-2, SFNFCI hosted a very successful First Nation’s Women’s Shelters: “Stronger Together: Breaking Cycles, Building Hope” Conference at Prairieland Park. Over 70 participants enjoyed two days of networking and presentations.

We have had a lot of dynamic speakers with interactive and engaging presentations. On October 1, Glenda Watson of Sage Integrative Wellness opened the event with a presentation on Lateral Violence. Then Cara Taylor from Oaks Mental Health presenting on Recovering From Burnout. In the afternoon Ashlee and Ben from Overdose Outreach Team did a hands-on Naloxone training.

Day Two featured Jennifer and Kimberly from Crossroads Therapeutic Solutions getting a lot of engagement with their presentation on Intimate Partner Violence and the event ended in the afternoon with Kendal Netmaker, author and entrepreneur.
