About the Course:
Measuring and improving operations consists of developing, implementing, and analyzing a system that captures process information in real-time. Using the Six Sigma Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) framework, participants will learn how to define operational problems, assess defects, report metrics, and quantify waste. This provides the foundation for operational excellence. Participants will learn how to build a robust measurement system, design and improve processes that produce high-quality results, and demonstrate efficiencies through cost-saving opportunities. With the capability to measure the status of any process in real-time, organizations can identify gaps between current and desired future performance. These efforts are vital in creating a culture of continuous improvement that leads organizations towards a desired future state.
Case studies, real-world examples, and hands-on activities will be used to bring the concepts to life and to empower people to utilize their learnings in their workplace. This program is part of the Operational Excellence Certificate.
