Course Description:

This two-day course focus on mental disorders and crisis first aid skills specifically for adults working with youth. The course focuses on mental disorders including, but not limited to; mood, anxiety, eating disorders, and psychotic disorders.
The course also discusses stigma and discrimination as well as five basic actions of mental health first aid. Each participant that completes the fourteen hours receives a certificate from Mental Health First Aid Canada.

Mental Health First Aid aims to:

  • Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others.
  • Provide help to prevent the mental health problem from developing into a more serious state.
  • Promote the recovery of good mental health.
  • Provide comfort to a person experiencing a mental health problem.

 

Deadline for registration:  June 3rd, 2025

 

Note: 100% attendance is required to receive course certification.
