Researchers Kelsie Zerebeski and Marisa MacGregor presented at the Caregivers Conference on May 21st, held at the Saskatoon Travelodge in Saskatchewan from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Their presentation, titled “Together We Can Do So Much!”, introduced attendees to the work of SFNFCI and highlighted several key research projects currently underway at the Institute. These included the Disabilities Initiative projects, which explore and identifies gaps in jurisdictions, building capacity and resource solutions. To help support Indigenous people living and working on a First Nations through culturally relevant resources and community-driven strategies.  They also discussed the Long-Term and Continuing Care (LTCC) project, which examines the needs of Indigenous communities in accessing and navigating long-term care services, with a focus on improving culturally safe care and transitions across the lifespan.

The session concluded with participants learning about the Youth Transition Resources, which was designed by youth to support youth as they move from care into adulthood.  Through interactive activities, participants explored how they might have conversations with youth taking that big step.

Participants shared that they enjoyed learning about the wide range of resources SFNFCI offers, from the resource guides to the manuals.
