Culturally Appropriate - Trauma Informed - Emotionally Sensitive

Our training and support services, research activities, and other capacity building projects are:

  • Culturally Appropriate: Awareness, understanding, and responsiveness to the beliefs, values, customs, and institutions (family, etc.) are incorporated into our training materials and resources.
  • Trauma Informed: When creating our training materials, we anticipate how trauma survivors may respond to our words and actions and strive to not cause further harm. We believe in helping to create a world that can foster growth, resiliency, and healing from trauma as well.
  • Emotionally Sensitive: Ensuring our training materials will not cause harm to those who are emotionally sensitive, experience emotions more intensely than others, is a high priority for SFNFCI.
